The open heart surgery is one of the great accomplishments of our medical science with the help of this a patient can live a health and normal lives without high risk. This surgery has gained a very effective results to the cardiac patients. The heart surgery is worked on the great vessels on the heart of the patient. It reduces the blood supply to the heart muscles helps correcting the congenital heart diseases and valvular heart diseases.
Types of Cardiac Surgery :
Surgery of minimal invasive (Robotic heart surgery): A very small incision is done in the patient’s body with a minimum scar by the surgeons with a machine controlled.
Open heart operation: The open heart surgery is generally performed to avoid the complex of intracardiac repairs. The pump oxygenator is used to perform this surgery.
Closed heart surgery: In this surgery the tissues in the left atrium is superficially cut by the surgeon.
Hypothermic operations: This surgery is to correct congenital heart defect and results into a positive intracardiac correction.
The surgeons have successfully transplanted a new heart from a recently organ donor in case of patient with heart failure or risky artery disease.

Besides conventional angiography through groin new technique has been introduced.
Basic blood screening (Blood sugar, Haemoglobin, Kidney & Liver function tests etc.)
Echocardiography to evaluate various valves of the heart and the function of ventricles. Coronary angiography through arm to rule out any blocks in the arteries of the heart.
No preparation is required. Procedure time is 10 minutes and the individual goes home in less than one hour. More than 11,000 procedures have been done since 1998 with 100% success rate, the largest series in Medical literature.
The department is on of the highest volume center in the country performing more than 2500 angioplasties in a year, our group as a whole performing more than 6000 angioplasties in a year probably the largest in the country. All sorts of complex cases are done by using rotablator for calcified arteries, drug elluting stents, drug elluting ballons etc. A large number of complex angioplasties are performed from the arm on routine basis under the leadership of very senior surgon (Our Panel Dr) who has been awarded “Distinguished Achievement Award of Highest Order” for performing the highest number of angioplasties/stenting as a single operator in the country.
The department is doing complex mitral valvoplasties with INOUE ballon, pulmonary valvoplasty and aortic valvoplasty on routine basis. our panel Dr. introduced the most popular INOUE ballon for the first time in India in 1990 and was designated as first investigator by Toray Company, Japan.
For severe mitral regurgitation in patients who are unfit for mitral valve replacement the procedure is performed by using the clips and has been very effective as per large experience in Europe.
